Gertrude wraps up filming - Valencia & Santa Monica, California
Check out the approved movie poster for the short film “Gertrude”.

+ one more from day three of filming.

Back in March I traveled out West to California. I spent a week in Valencia, California - about 45 minutes Northeast of Los Angeles. It was amazing to spend time with all of the people I met out there and experience everything there is to enjoy in the mountains of California. From hot springs off the slide of cliffs to Venice Beach - I had a great time photographing all of it.

Columbia College Chicago: Practicum Film - “Gertrude: Day 1″
“Gertrude” - From serving time to serving lunch.
This is a short comedy produced by students in the Columbia College Chicago Practicum Program. The entire film was shot in only four, twelve hour days of shooting in early March. Both on location in a high school in the suburbs of Chicago and also at Columbia College Chicago’s new, mammoth sound stage at their Media Production Center. As for right now, the film is slated to be finished and released in late 2010.
For the film I was responsible for film continuity stills and snapping some interesting behind the scenes images of the crew doing their jobs and goofing around. From what I could tell, the filming went smoothly and everyone I had the honor of working with were amazing people.

Randoms: All About the Loose Photos
Here are a few images from the past couple of months that I had lying around…

Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter @ Exit Chicago
This is a bit of a late update, with the photos being from April 24th. I’m not sure how many months this has been going on, but no matter how long - it was packed out a week and a half ago. The walls echoing house music to shake your tattooed ass to until five in the morning. Here are a few of the faces you may have saw there:

Documentary Project w/ HelloStudioB.com
Hola! These dreary days in Chicago give me nothing to do outside so I sit around working on blogs and photos all day long.
So, I’ve been working on this project for my Documentary Photography I class. The project focuses on young adults in the city of Chicago, couples, brothers and/or friends who operate their own business. I’m focusing on…
- Capturing their day to day lifestyles.
- How they interact with one another at home and at work.
- Photographing them at their place of business, home and in social gatherings.
Conclusion:
- To see how all of these componets together correlate with the end result of their work.
Here are a few images from the first shoot of the project with Chris and Kristen Barker of HelloStudioB.com. They are a young, up & coming pair of photographers and digital artists working in Chicago’s west-side neighborhood of the Ukranian Village. They are currently woring on a new Wedding Photography venture that includes both their photographic skills and dabbling in video work to compile an extremely creative approach at showing the connection between two partners.

Norma Jean & The Chariot
A few weeks back, on December 6, Norma Jean & The Chariot stormed into Chicago before any winter storm and tore up the stage along with Horse the Band. Reggie’s Rock Club had never been so full of pulsating energy.
